Dennis P. Mahoney is seeking re-election as Tinley Park Village Trustee, continuing his commitment to serving the community with integrity and dedication.

​

Since his election in 2021, Mahoney has served as Chair of the Public Works Committee for two years, where he prioritized infrastructure improvements, maintenance efficiency, and fiscal responsibility. For the past two years, he has chaired the Community Development Committee, acting as the liaison to the Community Development Department. In this role, he has championed sustainable development, supported business growth, and ensured that projects align with the community’s long-term goals.

Before becoming a Trustee, Mahoney served a four-year term as a Tinley Park Park District (TPPD) Commissioner. During his time on the TPPD Board, he worked to achieve significant energy cost savings, eliminate construction-related debt from the Bettenhausen Recreation Center, and improve numerous parks. His efforts included collaborating with local businesses to enhance community services, reflecting his focus on delivering tangible benefits for residents.

Mahoney has been a proud member of the Tinley Park community since 1986. A graduate of St. George School and Victor J. Andrew High School, he and his wife Katie are raising their three children, who attend Fulton Elementary and Central Middle Schools. He has also contributed to youth development by coaching for the Tinley Park Bulldogs and Bobcats athletic programs.

Professionally, Mahoney has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry as a member of Local 134 IBEW. He continues to work as an electrical construction foreman, managing complex projects that include high-rises, CTA facilities, airport infrastructure, and data centers. His expertise in construction and infrastructure informs his work as a Trustee, where he applies his knowledge to improve municipal projects efficiently and effectively.
